Good things are happening
Dear all,
Denmark’s govt. has announced easier restrictions, meaning that after a sweet 3-month hibernation, Red Door is (finally) allowed to re-open. Kinda.
There’s still no chance of live shows nor openings, exhibitions nor screenings etc, and the space is limited to 3! guests at a time. Talk about a challenge to a small art business!
But no matter, some sort of opening is a start, right? So let’s get started!
To celebrate the occasion, there’ll be three limited edition prints on exhibit, signed by the artist Cal Schenkel, American illustrator and artist known for his work with musicians… as a matter of fact, these three pieces on display (and available for sale) are definitely going to ring a bell for those who love music. More specifically, Captain Beefheart (one of my personal favorites) and Frank Zappa. The prints on exhibit were the covers of the albums ‘Trout Mask Replica’ (Captain Beefheart), ‘Uncle Meat’ and ‘Burnt Weeny Sandwich’ (The Mothers of Invention – Frank Zappa).
Additionally, a series of signed prints by American artist Mark Bryan will also be available for purchase:
As well as a new collection of miniature books, from film flip books to classics such as Alice in Wonderland, Pinoccio and The Prince:
As well as other posters, signed prints, poetry / photography / essay and other books in various languages, comics, tapes and more:
And of course, various issues of Red Door Magazine, including the upcoming issue #26, which will be released this March.
